The open beta comes to an end this Sunday, May 3. There's been no mention of a closed beta continuing afterward, so this may be it.

I've seen two release dates mentioned up to this point; June 18 and June 20.  From all indications we're still on track for a June release.

The official site is now up, which probably means you're going to be seeing less updates here as they disseminate information through the official channel.  BBD existed to pull tidbits from the forums and other sources into one location where fans could keep track of the game's progress, and to that end I think it largely succeeded.  http://www.bloodbowl-game.com should now undertake that role and BBD will transition to being a source for the modding community.

They've got open beta registration available.  Well, it's not a true "open beta" because they are limiting the number of entrants accepted (the number of which, they have not divulged).  Go here to sign yourself up, and maybe you'll get lucky!

Jessica from Focus ran a poll over on the Cyanide forums asking for the fan's choice of what they'd like to see in a screenshot.  Skaven and Chaos with mutations won the poll on the English forum, and apparently Humans won on the French.  Here they are:

These come courtesy of Sir Fozzie on the Cyanide forums, who in turn got them from Bill Abner's blog.  Bill Abner is the editor of the GameShark website who brought us the excellent two part preview not long ago.  I do not know his blog site, but if someone does please email me at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Jessica from Focus posted the following article on the Cyanide forums:

GDC '09: Hands on with Blood Bowl on PSP

Unfortunately they didn't publish any screens, and as noted at the bottom of the article, the image included at the top is from the PC.  Still a good read though for all you handheld gamers out there.
